Wilder Kaiser region

Wilder Kaiser region,World Travel GuideThe Wilder Kaiser region lives up to its name with pristine nature, plenty of wildlife and, for those with a sharp eye, perhaps even the treat of wild blueberries and sweet alpine raspberries along the way!

Nearest airports are Innsbruck 50 miles, Salzburg 50 miles, and Munich 75 miles (Germany).

Wilder Kaiser has launched 3D hiking maps on the web and for GPS mobiles. The latest service success to come from the renowned innovative Wilder Kaiser holiday region in Tyrol can be described as "pathbreaking" in the truest sense of the word.

On a high resolution, three-dimensional hiking map, all the hiking routes in Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll can be observed in the " flight of an eagle" on the internet and loaded onto your GPS mobile or printed out as a PDF document.

Commissioned by the Wilder Kaiser Tourist Association, the Alpstein Austria company has managed to accurately georeference and digitalise the entire 400 km network of trails in the region in just nine months.

By means of spectacular 3D panoramic flights, high resolution digital aerial photographs, the guest currently chooses from 20 top tours, correctly estimates the time frame required for them and in doing so removes in advance any concern that the identified route might overexert his physical constitution. An individual hiking tour can be planned conveniently and in a matter of seconds - with all the important information such as walking time, altitude difference, rest stops, suitability for mountain bikes or children's pushchairs, terrain and soil conditions and much more. In the future, it will also be possible to "conquer" ski slopes, cable cars and lifts, toboggan runs, ski tours and snowshoe hikes on a 3D winter map.
